2023 Kenya Mission

Lakewood sent another mission team to Kenya in July, 2023. We were a team of 7, 5 were veterans and 2 were rookies.   We all feel very Blessed by our mission experiences.  We again spent 7 days at the Maua Methodist Hospital (MMH) in Maua, Kenya.  MMH is a ‘mission’ hospital and does not turn anyone away that comes seeking medical help, and besides medical care, they provide Spiritual care through the compassion and Prayers of the staff.  Some call MMH a ‘place of miracles’ as it is evident that God is working miracles there through His servants.   While at MMH we participated in a medical camp with staff from the Hospital, helped with the building of a home as part of the MMH Orphan’s Home program, and went to a primary school in the area established by the Methodist Church in Kenya where we donated school desks and supplies.   From MMH we traveled to the Velosia Kingdom Builders Center Orphanage (VKBC) where we conducted a VBS and played/sang/danced with the children.  VKBC provides shelter, education, physical and Spiritual nourishment, and LOVE to children that were alone and lost. 

We thank God for calling us and watching over us during this mission.  We thank our families and our Lakewood family for all their support and love and many Prayers.
